This FOA solicits applications from large cross-disciplinary teams that will advance computer science toward a software stack that is ready to leverage multiple quantum technologies, or will develop mathematical foundations, algorithms, and software tools toward quantum utility demonstration for applications within the DOE mission.

The Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences provides funding to young investigators who demonstrate outstanding promise as contributors in science relevant to human health. The program makes grants to selected academic institutions to support the independent research of outstanding individuals who are in their first few years of their appointment at the assistant professor level.
Based on their performance during their education and training, candidates should demonstrate outstanding promise as contributors in science relevant to human health. This program does not fund clinical trials research. Strong proposals will incorporate particularly creative and pioneering approaches to basic, translational, and applied biomedical research. Candidates whose work is based on biomedical principles but who bring in concepts and theories from more diverse fields are encouraged to apply. Ideas with the potential to produce an unusually high impact are encouraged.
Investigator Effort: It is expected that Pew scholars will spend at least 80 percent of their time in work or activities related to the accomplishment of their overall research goals (which are not restricted to the specific aims proposed for this award). However, Pew provides flexible support to the general research aims of the scholar and does not require effort reporting.

Investigations supported by these grants are expected to yield high-impact findings and result in major grant applications and significant publications in high-impact journals.

The Materials Innovation Platforms (MIP) program supports transformative, transdisciplinary research to address grand challenges in materials science. It provides shared, cutting-edge infrastructure for materials synthesis, characterization, and modeling, fostering innovation through iterative, collaborative processes. MIPs emphasize creating scientific ecosystems that integrate expertise across disciplines, advance tools with unique capabilities, and promote data and knowledge sharing. Platforms are designed to accelerate materials discovery and deployment, aligning with national priorities and the Materials Genome Initiative.

The NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers. The program is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs. Proposals are requested that address any interdisciplinary or convergent research theme of national priority, as described in section II.D below.
The NRT program addresses workforce development, emphasizing broad participation, and institutional capacity building needs in graduate education. The program encourages proposals that involve strategic collaborations with the private sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies, national laboratories, field stations, teaching and learning centers, informal science centers, and academic partners.

The funds are designed to provide to tenure track faculty members in their first to fourth year, at American Institutions, who hold M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees, start-up support to move the project forward to the point where R01 or other independent funding can be obtained. Applicants with current R01 funding should not apply.
The grant provides $75,000 annually for a period of up to three years. Grants are not renewable.
Proposals must contain an adequately detailed description of the project to be clearly understandable by the scientific members of the Trustees. They need not be in the detail requested by the NIH for R01 grants and should not exceed five pages in length. Additional material can be submitted, but the five-page application should contain the essential information. References should also be included to support the proposal. Note that the five page limit is only for the project description.

They are focused on conquering metastatic and aggressive breast cancers, advancing personalized breast care and eliminating breast cancer disparities and inequities. Their goal is to improve breast health care and outcomes for everyone and save lives.

This ACSS 2.0 Program solicitation intends to request proposals from organizations willing to serve as resource providers within the NSF ACSS program. Resource providers would (1) provide advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources in production operations to support the full range of computation, data-analysis, and AI research across all of science and engineering, and (2) enable democratized and equitable access to the proposed resources.
The 2025 deadline supports Category II, Innovative Prototypes/Testbeds proposals, which focus on deploying novel computing resources as prototypes or testbeds to advance science and engineering research.

The purposes of this program are to (1) help address State-identified needs for personnel preparation in early intervention, special education, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants, toddlers, and youth with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research, to be successful in serving those children.

The Searle Scholars Program supports the career development of early-career scientists who demonstrate exceptional potential and have recently begun tenure-track assistant professor appointments. The program funds high-risk, high-reward independent research across a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related fields in chemistry, medicine, and the biological sciences. While it does not typically support purely clinical research, proposals that combine basic and clinical components may be considered.
Applicants for the 2026 competition (with awards beginning July 1, 2026) must submit a research proposal that builds on their previously described research program and will be evaluated for creativity, feasibility, clarity, and the potential for successful outcomes. Searle Scholars Program funding may supplement, but not replace, support from other sources, and overlapping research is allowed.
