The focus of the awards includes the design of educational projects using Library of Congress materials for use in and outside of formal classroom settings. In addition to using Library primary sources to deliver history, civics, and/or democracy learning experiences integrating the arts, projects must address demonstrated educational needs of specific recipient populations and provide solutions that standard practice, documented experience, or research suggest would be effective. Organizations that receive LHI awards make up a subset of the TPS Educational Consortium whose work spans areas of interest including but not limited to arts integration, civics education, multimodal learning, and teaching with audiovisual primary sources

The foundation anticipates that the work of the Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program will explore the many ways political polarization in the United States and abroad manifests itself in society and suggest ways that it may be mitigated. Studies of polarization in other countries should offer lessons that can be applied to the United States, such as those listed below. Projects based in disciplines across the humanities and social sciences are welcomed.
- What has been the relationship between populism and polarization in other countries?
- How have some countries managed to avoid polarization?
- What can we learn from countries that have undergone periods of polarization, such as South Africa, Colombia, and Northern Ireland?
- Under what conditions has polarization escalated into political violence?
- Under what conditions has polarization taken root/accelerated/declined in other countries?

Managing Unit: CFR

Instruments funded through this program must be shared among the users to create new research opportunities, enable reproducible data generation, encourage collaborative research and training, and strengthen long-term research capabilities. The minimum award is $50,000. While there is no limit on the total cost of the instrument, the maximum award is $400,000. Eligible instruments include, but are not limited to, mass spectrometers, cell sorters, bioimagers, DNA and protein sequencers, light microscopes, 3D printers, and high-performance computers. Applications for general purpose computer systems (computer clusters and data storage systems) will only be considered if the system is solely dedicated to biomedical research.

The CADI, funded through an interagency agreement between the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS) and the State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, supports a portfolio of projects in Eastern Europe (non-E.U.), the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. These projects are designed to make American agriculture safer, stronger, and more prosperous. Specifically, the portfolio seeks to prevent and remove trade barriers for U.S. agricultural exports and support U.S. exporters and trading partners.
The awardee will conduct original basic and applied research that will focus on advancing a trade agenda that benefits America’s ranchers, farmers, and producers.

The Searle Scholars Program supports the career development of early-career scientists who demonstrate exceptional potential and have recently begun tenure-track assistant professor appointments. The program funds high-risk, high-reward independent research across a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related fields in chemistry, medicine, and the biological sciences. While it does not typically support purely clinical research, proposals that combine basic and clinical components may be considered.
Applicants for the 2026 competition (with awards beginning July 1, 2026) must submit a research proposal that builds on their previously described research program and will be evaluated for creativity, feasibility, clarity, and the potential for successful outcomes. Searle Scholars Program funding may supplement, but not replace, support from other sources, and overlapping research is allowed.

The Foundation is seeking highly innovative and groundbreaking medical research proposals from top-tier institutions in both basic biological and applied research that will have the greatest impact on scientific knowledge and human health. Proposals should be distinctive and novel in their approaches, question the prevailing paradigm, and lead to the advancement of knowledge in the field. A highly qualified scientific advisory committee will review all proposals. Medical areas of interest include the following: Allergy and Immunology, Biochemistry, Cardiology, Dermatology, Dietetics, Embryology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Genetics, Hepatology, Immunology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Personalized Medicine, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Toxicology. Stanford faculty with PI eligibility (with UTL, UML, and NTLR appointments) may apply.

Through this NOFO, IPT’s Invasive Species program aims to support projects that advance tangible improvements in invasive species prevention by utilizing existing research knowledge on invasive species risks and pathways to produce actionable outcomes that protect American agriculture from invasive species. For example, past and current research has built important pre-invasion knowledge of problematic pests, such as through horizon scanning and monitoring ex-patria sentinel trees. We invite proposals that build upon and directly link this type of invasive species scientific knowledge to make improvements in regulatory frameworks, policies, and actions that will decrease new arrivals and establishment of invasive pests. Projects should bridge the gap between current research knowledge and concrete actions that will improve how the U.S. prevents the introduction and establishment of new invasive species.

The EPA's Office of Water, Office of Wastewater Management is soliciting applications to expand career opportunities in the drinking water and wastewater utility sector and to raise public awareness of water workforce jobs. Eligible activities include apprenticeship and internship programs; education programs for elementary, secondary, and higher education students; regional industry collaborations; and training programs supporting the decentralized workforce. Efforts should aim for measurable results and demonstrate tangible benefits for water systems and communities.

The Research Program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting fundamental projects in two specific areas (1) medical research and (2) science and engineering, that are distinctive and novel in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm, or have the potential to break open new territory in their field.
Applicants should have unsuccessfully attempted to secure funding from conventional sources and be able to share formal or informal feedback indicating the project's breakthrough, high-risk nature.

Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally) aims to support the development of independent research of highly qualified individuals still early in their careers. The application must address at least one of the following priority areas related to cancer in children, adolescents and/or young adults up to age 24: Innovative approaches to research that could lead to advanced studies, better delivery of treatment or clinical translation, Basic science studies likely to lead to a new discovery, Under-studied cancer types, Quality of life, survivorship and palliative care studies, Personalized, targeted, alternative or integrative research proposals, Data utilization through data standardization, collection, storage, analysis and sharing.

The Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists recognizes exceptional research in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences.

The award honors individuals whose work is innovative, impactful, and addresses critical challenges. Nominees must demonstrate how their research advances their field and opens new areas of exploration, supported by evidence like peer-reviewed publications and major grants.

Additionally, nominees should highlight their leadership, mentorship, and efforts to promote diversity in STEM, reflecting the program's commitment to inclusivity.

The NSF AI Infrastructure Hubs program aims to expand access to the compute required for AI-enabled scientific discovery and to transform the research, education, and training opportunities offered by institutions of higher education. AI Infrastructure Hubs will connect researchers to new compute infrastructure that leverages contributions from state governments, research institutions, industry, and philanthropy, accelerating AI-enabled discovery across science and engineering and developing a skilled technical workforce for AI use in the scientific enterprise.
Each AI Infrastructure Hub will be organized as a flexible state or regional consortium of state and local governments, research institutions, philanthropies, and the private sector. Consortia will be responsible for all funding for new or expanded computing, data, and AI resources, whether on-premises or cloud-based. NSF will fund each Hub’s consortium coordination, AI infrastructure workforce development, and faculty training and coursework development in leveraging AI for science.
