Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research

The Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research (VPDoR) recommends and promulgates new research policies and oversees implementation. The VPDoR also provides support on a broad spectrum of research support services and guidance on the regulatory compliance requirements to investigators. The office also provides financial and operational oversight for the independent academic units and research support offices under the auspices of the VPDoR organization.

Stanford and SLAC

The relationship between SLAC and Stanford goes back 60 years, to a meeting where Stanford physicists helped plot construction of the linear accelerator. Since that time, collaboration between Stanford and SLAC scientists contributed to four Nobel prizes in physics and chemistry.
