    Memoranda of Understanding and Letters of Intent

    This policy does not apply to sponsor funding announcements that require a Letter of Intent with a project description for the sponsor to review and determine which investigators will be invited to submit a full proposal. These types of LOIs are allowable and do not require special approval.

    Language on research-only faculty on 12-month appointments may typically charge up to 95% to sponsored projects year round and must reserve a **minimum of 5% effort for non-sponsored activities.**
