This office recommends and promulgates new research policy and oversees implementation and exceptions by consulting with representatives of other central research administration offices, school dean's offices, and other constituents to ensure that sufficient thought and thorough feedback has been received by all interested parties.  The office assists in the dissemination of policy and guidelines to ensure policy implementations are consistent and clearly communicated to the broader research community. Specific areas of policy and regulatory expertise and support include global research security, export controls, conflict of commitment and conflict of interest coordination and management and research data governance and integrity.

The Associate Vice Provost for Research Policy and Integrity is tasked with overseeing the above process and reporting back to the Vice Provost and Dean of Research.  When necessary, the Committee on Research and the Academic Council are advised or consulted for feedback and/or approval of policy.
