The Prize is awarded by the University of Zurich and rotates annually between the following four areas of research: Translational/Clinical Research in Medicine; Basic Research in Medicine; Chemistry; and Physics. In 2026, the prize will be awarded exclusively in chemistry.
Both individual scientists and groups of collaborating scientists (up to three researchers) may be nominated.
