About Stanford RDO

The Stanford Research Development Office (RDO) was founded in 2021 under the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research with the aim of strengthening collaborative or strategic research, scholarship, and creative activities. RDO supports Stanford PIs and helps set them up for sponsored research funding success through project-opportunity alignment, early preparation, and proposal development support.

Within the Stanford research lifecycle, RDO offers (pre-)pre-award support. In other words, we advise on the conceptualization, form, and content of extramural funding proposals. Our team brings expertise in grantsmanship and experience with various sponsors (mostly federal, or opportunities with open calls). Our services are optional, and free to PIs. In addition, we manage the Limited Submission Program for the University, in collaboration with the School of Medicine.

We invite you to explore the RDO homepage and website or contact us at Stanford_RDO@stanford.edu for more information about how Stanford RDO can help you.
