5.9 Monitoring Cost Sharing

1. About Cost Sharing

  • If cost sharing has been proposed and awarded a cost sharing task will be created at account setup by  OSR

  • It does not have to be funded until fiscal year end (8/31/xx)

  • When reporting cost sharing to the sponsor don’t forget to calculate and add to the MTDC (Modified Total Direct Cost) of the PTA the forgone F&A and university contribution to tuition if applicable allowance

  • Funding must come from an unrestricted PTA

  • Remember to charge Cost Sharing EXPENSES to the Cost sharing task in a timely manner. Don't wait until closeout!
