Pre-Award Operations, Client Advocacy and Electronic Research Administration
The Office of Sponsored Research Pre Award organization provides timely, high-quality and coordinated research administrative services; data analysis and insight; client advocacy and education, and systems technical support to Stanford faculty and departments.
Collaborate with faculty, department administrators, and partner groups to ensure compliance with sponsor terms and conditions, University policies, and federal requirements for sponsored projects; review and endorse sponsored projects proposals; negotiate and accept awards that support sponsored projects; and prepare, negotiate, and issue subawards issued under Stanford sponsored project awards.
Members of the team also serve as liaisons with sponsors for non-financial award management matters, such as prior approval requests, and as resources for the campus community for questions that may arise during the life of a sponsored project.
Prepare, review, negotiate, oversee and manage non-standard research-related business agreements related to the University’s core mission of education and research but falls outside of traditional sponsored research grants and contracts.
Client Advocacy & Education
Provide research administration-related learning opportunities and resources to campus, such as seminars, training, website content, brown bag sessions and newsletters; provide SeRA system release communications and training, system technical support and advocacy of system enhancements on behalf of the end users; respond to research administration process and system inquiries, and conduct outreach to gather feedback from the research administration community. Provide system support for SeRA, CRISP, eCertification and OPACS systems.
Data preparation, analysis, exploration and creation of visualizations to help drive a deeper understanding for the organization and community. Assure the integrity and quality of data is maintained during database design, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis. Produce data output and reporting in platforms to best suit and serve end users. Lead business in assessment of functions and processes for software development and enhancement.
