Find High Powered Computing Facilities

Need access to compute resources beyond your desktop?  There are a variety of compute clusters run by Stanford schools and departments. For example, Research Computing manages HPC clusters for the Stanford Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine, the Economics department, the Statistics department, and the School of Humanities & Sciences.  If you are from one of those units, drop us a note at the email address above and we can get you started.  If you are from another school or group at Stanford, consult your local IT team or, if you don’t know who they are, we can point you in the right direction.

Research Computing also offers access to a small shared campus HPC resource, FarmShare.  Open to anyone with a SUNet ID, FarmShare is intended to be a short-term, low-intensity computational resource for students, courses and researchers who are just getting started with computing.

The Stanford Research Computing service has access to the NSF-sponsored XSEDE high-end compute and storage resources. If your computing needs require resources at a scale beyond what can be met on campus, drop us a note and we can introduce you to XSEDE.  We have access to most of the national resources so you can try them out to see if they will meet your needs.  If they do, we can work with you to help craft an allocation proposal.
