Provides assurance of Stanford compliance with Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulations for the protection of human research participants.

1. Statement

Stanford University's Federalwide Assurance for the protection of human participants, along with the related assurances for Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Stanford Medicine Children's Health, the Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research, and the Veteran's Administration Palo Alto Health Care System can be found in the Research Compliance Office site. 

Stanford University IRBs are in compliance with Good Clinical Practices (ICH/GCP) as consistent with US Food and Drug Administration Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR 50 and 56) and DHHS Regulations (45 CFR Part 46). The IRBs follow ethical principles outlined in The Belmont Report
